NFC EAST TOTAL WIN BEST BET – Over 8 Washington Football Team
Washington relied heavily on their defense last year which proved to be one of the best in the NFL. They will be very good on that side of the ball again this season as they didn’t lose a single key player from last year’s defense. They held 10 of their 16 regular season opponents to 20 points or less but their offense was held to 20 points or less in 10 games which is why this team finished 7-9. The QB position was in shambles for Washington last season with 4 different QB’s (Smith, Allen, Haskins, and Heinicke) getting the starting nod throughout the year. Dare we say that this year’s starter, journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick, is a solid upgrade over last year’s QB situation? Say what you will but Fitzpatrick was more than solid last year finishing 7th in the league in yards per pass attempt and 5th in completion percentage playing for Miami. The Fins won 4 of the 5 games he started and his numbers were MUCH better than Tua Tagovailoa who took over for him. They have solid playmakers at WR including Curtis Samuel who they added in the off-season. If this team can up their offensive productions just a bit this year, they should have a winning season. They already have the best defense in the worst division in football. Washington was the only team in the NFC East with a positive point differential and their YPP differential on the season was dead even. We feel they are the top team in the division and should be a +.500 team this season.
