ASA’s 76ers vs. Bucks prediction. Clearly this is a big marquee match up of two of the favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference this season and both have made big news in the offseason. The Bucks made a blockbuster trade and brought in Damian Lillard, the 76ers were dealing with distractions in James Harden. A great side story to this game is the new head coaches for both teams. The 76ers brought in former Raptors coach Nick Nurse (I desperately wanted the Bucks to hire him) while the Bucks hired first time head coach Adrian Griffin. Griffin was an assistant under Nurse in Toronto and won a ring in 2019. In regard to tonight’s game. The Bucks may have an adjustment period with Dame in the lineup with Giannis as you have two Alpha males that averaged over 31PPG a season ago. The 76ers though played without Harden enough though so they really won’t have a tough time adjusting in this opener. The Bucks were 33-11 SU at home a season ago with an average +/- of +5.9PPG. Philadelphia had the second-best road record a year ago at 29-18 SU with a plus/minus of +2.9PPG. The Underdog covered 3 of four last year in this series as every game but one was close. In fact, the dog won 3 of the four outright. This Sixers roster is still very good with a budding star in Maxey, an MVP candidate in Embiid and solid vets as a supporting cast in Beverley, Harris and Tucker. A sneaky good addition to the roster is Kelly Oubre Jr who can be a game changer when motivated. We like the veteran coach to have the upper hand tonight in what should be a close game throughout. The Raptors host the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight and we expect a big game from the Raptors’ new starting PG Dennis Schroder. Toronto brought in the veteran Schroder to shore up their backcourt after losing Fred VanVleet in the offseason. He is inline for a big game tonight at home against a porous T-Wolves defense that was 20th overall in defensive efficiency ratings. Defending point guards was especially problematic for the Wolves as they were 3rd worst in the league a year ago in that department. Last year as a Lakers, Schroder totaled 18 and 17 points+assists in two games against the T-Wolves and one of those games was as a reserve in just 22 minutes of play. Last season Schroder averaged 17.1 points+assists per game, and as we mentioned those numbers come with him not being a full-time starter. In the Raptors last two preseason games he had 19 and 19 Pts+Ass in 23 and 28 minutes. In this home opener we expect Schroder to really focus on getting all of his teammates involved which will lead to a big assists number and the points are an added bonus. With this being the first game of the season, we know LBJ will dress and play tonight, which may not be the case in any random regular season game. This game has added motivation for LeBron and the Lakers as they were swept by the Nuggets last season in the postseason. As we know, being motivated is not always LeBron’s strength but we are betting on it tonight. James averaged 28.9PPG, 8.3RPG and 6.8APG last season, which means he needs just an ‘average’ game tonight. His career numbers are 27.2PPG, 7.5RPG and 7.3APG which are also enough to grab the cash on this Over wager. Last year in the playoffs LeBron had total points+rebounds+assists of 59, 42, 41 and 47 in the series against Denver. The Nuggets weren’t a great defensive team a year ago and they lost 2 key defenders in Brown and Green so expect a regression on that end of the court, especially early on. Denver was also one of the worst teams in the league a season ago in defending small forwards. LeBron won’t be on a minute’s restriction tonight and should put up big numbers in this season opener. Commanders vs Giants prediction – Oct 22nd

NFL FREE BET #462 ASA PLAY ON NY Giants +3 over Washington Commanders, Sunday at 1 PM ET

Giants are coming off a solid outing @ Buffalo giving the Bills all they could handle last week in a 14-9 loss.  NY outgained Buffalo in the game and had the ball 1st and goal at the Bills 1 yard line with a chance to win in the final seconds.  Veteran QB Tyrod Taylor had a solid outing and it looks like he’ll be under center again today as Daniel Jones recovers from an injury.  Washington won @ Atlanta last week but they were outplayed dramatically in the stats.  In that win the Commanders were -13 first downs, outgained 402 to 197, and 5.1 to 3.9 on a YPP basis.  They won the turnover battle 3 to 0 which was the difference in the game.  The Giants have covered 7 of the last 9 in this series and as a dog vs Washington they’ve covered 4 of the last 5.  We like the line value here as in their only 2 home games this year NYG was a 3 point dog vs Dallas and a 2.5 point dog vs Seattle, 2 teams ranked 10th and 11th per DVOA and now they are getting the same number vs a Washington team ranked 24th per DVOA.  We’re catching the Giants at the bottom of the market here but off a solid outing vs a high level team vs an overvalued Washington team.  Take the points.

Our free bet or free pick today is on this Total between the Wolfpack and Aztecs. Neither offense has been high scoring or dynamic this season which is why this total is low.  However, let’s take a closer look.  San Diego State has played 4 high level defenses so far this season in UCLA, Ohio, Oregon and Air Force.  Those 4 teams all rank in the top 13 in total defense nationally.  The SDSU offense expectedly struggled in those games.  In the 2 games when the didn’t face an elite defense, the Aztecs scored 41 & 31 points.  They won’t be facing an elite defense here to say the least.  Nevada’s defense ranks dead last in CFB in total defense and YPP allowed.  The Wolfpack also rank 132nd in PPG allowed and they’ve given up at least 31 points in 5 of their 6 games this season.  We expect SDSU to look very good offensively on Saturday night.  On the other side, the Aztecs have a reputation for being very solid defensively but that is not the case this season.  They rank 119th in total defense and 128th in YPP allowed.  In their last 5 games the Aztec defense has given up 35, 26, 34, 49, and 34 points.  The Nevada offense struggled early this season, but they have now scored at least 24 points in 3 of their last 4 games.  The only time they didn’t reach 24 during that stretch was vs Fresno who ranks in the top 30 in total defense.  Last week, the Wolfpack offense played as well as they have all season averaging 7.0 YPP vs rival UNLV.  Nevada put up 27 points in that loss to UNLV (45-27 final score) but could have scored more with 2 turnovers deep in UNLV territory.  This total is set low due to the offensive numbers each team has put up this year but it’s too low based on the poor defensive performances.  Free bet on the Over in today’s Wolfpack vs Aztecs game.
