Boston College at Wake Forest Week III: *Friday, 6:30PM ET – Time change due to Hurricane Florence*
Winston-Salem is the home of Wake Forest University who host the Eagles of Boston College at BB&T Field this Thursday night with Hurricane Florence looming. Both the Demon-Deacons and the Eagles hope to open up ACC conference play with a win and improve to 3-0 on the season.
Wake Forest opened their season with a nail biting 23-17 overtime win over the Green Wave of Tulane in New Orleans. Following such a close game in week one, the Demon Deacons blew the doors off FCS opponent Towson in week two by a score of 51-20. Wake Forest quarterback Sam Hartman threw for 242 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Cade Carney added 130 yards and a score on the ground in the rout of the Tigers. In order for Wake Forest to come off the field victorious Thursday night they will need solid play from true freshman quarterback Sam Hartman. Hartman has had some turnover issues in the first two weeks of the season throwing three interceptions which can be troublesome against an experienced Boston College defense. Ball security will be a priority in a rain soaked contest Thursday night at 5:30pm local time.
Boston College started their season off in significantly less exciting fashion beating Massachusetts in their opener 55-21. The Eagles faced off against another FCS opponent in the form of Holy Cross in week 2. This game featured a similar result for the Eagles as they cruised to a 62-14. In the win, running back AJ Dillon rushed for 149 yards and three scores. AJ Dillon is the best played on the Boston College roster, and in order for the Eagles to come out on top AJ Dillon needs to show up in a game that will be won in the trenches.
