Tutorial Thursday – By Kenny Schmitt
Sept 13th Edition
Our Thursday edition of our newsletter, we’re going to give you all some solid nuggets of information in the NFL that is key to handicapping each weeks scheduled games. This type of information you’ll see below is a much different approach than trends that many handicappers use and or bettors follow each week when wagering.
Wash Vs. Indy – Well the Skins come into this game after CRUSHING the Cardinals in the desert last Sunday, on the other hand the Colts come in off a home loss to the Bengals. This is there 1st of 5 roads games they will be playing in the next 7 weeks. One thing to note is the Andrew Luck is 11-5 as an underdog. On a coaching angel, note that Wash. D-Cord (Greg Manusky) was the D-Cord with the Colts during Luck’s tenure. One big concern from my POV, is the run game for the Colts. Last week they tallied 24 first downs, and only 4 were by rushing!
Player Prop Angel: We suggest to see what they put on the prop for total receptions for Chris Thompson (WASH), as he lead the team in targets and receptions last week. Alex Smith loves to dump it to the RB.
Chicago Vs. Seattle – We backed Denver last week against Seattle. It was one of our July early release on the Broncos! We all know that Denver only beat the Seahawks by 3, but Case Keenum threw 3 int’s and that let Seattle hang around the entire game. If you dissect the box score, you’ll see total domination by Denver. The Broncos had a first down advantage of 25-13 and also held a distinct advantage in total yardage as well (470-306)!
The most alarming data I came across on the Seahawks was they only had 1 rushing first down the entire game out of 13 first downs. Also note this is Seattle’s 2nd road game in a row and they were on the field last week 10 minutes longer than Denver and the Broncos also ran 73 plays to the Hawks 51! Can we say TIRED LEGS for a average to below average defense this week in the Windy City!
Player Prop Angel: We recommend a WAGER on Jordan Howard over his rushing yardage if they list it at 72 or lower!!
San Fran Vs. Detroit – STRANGE BREW GAME – We’re calling this the strange brew game. There are some many anomalies when you dig into this game. Watching visually from last week, it looks as the the 49ers are slam dunks! We agree, you have the N.Y. Jets SMACKING their lips that they knew Matt Staffords signals and it was easy to read him all night long. Now you have Detroit making the West Coast trip for a late afternoon game and if you think Matt Stafford was bad last week, take a look below at his numbers against NFC West on the road.
MATT STAFFORD – 0 – 8 SU / 1 – 7 ATS = 7 TD’S – 11 INT’S – 2 FUMBLES
MATT STAFFORD – ALL TIME ROAD RECORD = 25 – 40 SU (38%)
Also note that Matt Patricia has his old team on deck next week (New England)!
