ASA’s AFC WEST TOTAL WIN BEST BET – Over 12 Kansas City Chiefs
The only way we feel KC doesn’t get to at least 12 wins is if Mahomes gets injured for an extended period of time. The Chiefs have a 38-8 record with Mahomes as a starter and if he stays healthy 12-5 is probably a worst case scenario (17 regular season games for the NFL this season). They led the league averaging 414 total YPG but the Chiefs scoring dropped by a full point last year. That’s because they struggled to run the ball in the redzone with a banged up offensive line. They averaged just 0.8 rushing TD’s per game (22nd in the NFL) but that number should go back up in 2021 with a revamped offensive line that should be among the best in the league. Their skill players remain as good as any in the NFL. Believe it or not, this team should be better offensively this season. If KC can be just average defensively as they have been the last few years, this team will make another run at the Super Bowl. We have them favored in all but one game this year, and that is @ Baltimore in week 2 where we have the Ravens as a 1-point chalk. Not only will KC be potentially favored in 16 of their 17 games this season, we have them as at least a 6 point chalk in 13 of those contests. ASA likes the Over for the Chiefs if you can get it at 12 which is where it sits as we write this.
